ABOUT THE FOUNDER

EARLY BEGINNINGS & PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION

Elissa Albert is the founder of Tribal Yoga School and a Yoga Master Trainer with over 13 years of teaching experience. She began teaching at just 19 years old after undergoing bilateral leg surgery, where yoga became a powerful tool for healing, recovery, and resilience.

What started as a personal practice quickly evolved into a life’s work.

Over the past decade, Elissa has guided thousands of students through yoga, breathwork, and meditation — helping people regulate their nervous systems, reconnect to their bodies, and experience real, lasting transformation. Her work goes beyond physical movement, integrating ancient yogic practices with modern understanding of the body and mind.

TRAINING, LINEAGE & INDIA

Elissa has completed over 2,000 hours of advanced training and certifications around the world.

From 2018–2020, she underwent a 1,000-hour Yoga Master Training under the guidance of an Indian monk, Veda. In March 2020, she traveled to India for the first time, co-leading a 2-week spiritual yoga tour and spending the remainder of her 6-week stay studying and teaching at the source of the practice.

In 2024, she returned to India to complete a 300-hour advanced training in Himalayan Kundalini and Kriya Yoga in the Himalayan mountains. She returned again in 2026 for a third journey, spending an additional month in Master-level study and receiving advanced certifications in meditation and initiation practices.

These experiences deeply shape the way she teaches today, grounding her work in lineage, intention, and depth.

FOUNDER OF TRIBAL YOGA SCHOOL

Elissa founded Tribal Yoga School to bridge the gap between traditional yoga and modern wellness.

Tribal is more than a yoga school — it’s a space for people seeking a deeper, more sustainable approach to health. A place for those who want more than a workout. A place to slow down, reconnect, and come back into balance.

Through her 200-hour Yoga Master Training, Elissa has led 10 successful cohorts, helping students become confident, highly skilled teachers. Tribal has become one of the most respected yoga schools in Wisconsin, with graduates often being hired before they even complete the program.

Elissa is also a Lululemon Ambassador (2023–2026) and an active leader in the Milwaukee wellness community, known for creating powerful group experiences that blend yoga, breathwork, and meditation.

Her mission is to bring real yoga back — not just as a workout, but as a tool for healing, connection, and transformation.
